Krome Penit

Located south of Miami, almost to Homestead, Fl. is a hidden location known as krome penit. This place is completely awesome, I mean that there is grafitti on every square inch of the place, completely abandoned, other that the paintballers that are there during the day. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are into this type of thing and are in the Miami area.

Steel wool

Steel wool is found at most hardware stores and is flammable, or smoulderable if you will. You can ignite it with a lighter or a 9v battery, I attach it to a tie down strap or you could use a cord with weight on the end of it, as steel wool does not weigh anything.

Simply ignite the wool and spin it around.

Lets catch up to this month

I haven't did a very good job on keeping up with my blog. I guess it hasn't mattered as I am the only viewer.

Light painting is the movement of light in front of the camera with the lens open. Most of my shots are at least 60 seconds in length, some going as far as 450 seconds, depending on how much movement and work I as doing.

I have moved into using fireworks, and water for reflection. I hope you like my latest, these images are from the month of July 09

Ouch, I burnt myself lol : 0)

more evolution and new lights

The last post was actually pictures that I took up until Feb. 09, still learning and experimenting with different lights and styles. It seems like my mind just keeps thinking about what this would look like or that would create, alas, I continue to try different lights. You can see by the last photos I bought some new lights, undercar neon.

Here are some m0re from March and April

What my lightpainting has evolved to

Merry Sparkling Christmas

I had no idea what I was expecting when I went out with my camera and sparklers. I had the idea in my head, though having zero experience using my camera with sparklers together, I was extremely pleased with the results.

I purchased my Nikon used in October 08 and have also bought a few lenses. The only camera I used before this was a little Polaroid point n shoot. I have fallen in love with photography again:)

My Christmas tree has been on www.flickr.com/duane.schoon for 1 week now and has had almost 900 views.

I submitted it to www.reuters.com/youwitness and it has been selected for the #1 position in the photos of the week.

I thank everyone for their appreciation of my work. Thank you
